The Sultan Bin Ali Al owais Cultural Foundation will be hosting a book signing event for two books by Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim, namely Al Fujairah: Qisat Madina (Fujairah: Tale of a City) and Al Quwa Al Amila Wal Ta’leem Fi Dawlat Al Emarat Al Arabiyya Al Mutahida (The Workforce and Education in the UAE) by Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim. The event will take place at 8pm on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the Seminar Hall of Al Owais Cultural Foundation.
Speaking at the event, the author will shed light on his two new books, published by Dar Al Muheet Publishing House, before signing copies of the new publications for the audience.
The first book Al Fujairah: Qisat Madina (Fujairah: Tale of a City) touches upon the most prominent achievements in the journey of the Emirate of Fujairah, and documents the development and growth it has witnessed over the years. Moreover, the author sheds light on the innovative management approach of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, and his creative problem-solving and solution-finding expertise, which have helped put the Emirate’s resources to best use.
Moreover, the book tackles various subjects such as society and the “Barza” culture, the economy, Fujairah Port as a window to the world and archaeological monuments among others.
On the other hand, the second book, Al Quwa Al Amila Wal Ta’leem Fi Dawlat Al Emarat Al Arabiyya Al Mutahida (The Workforce and Education in the UAE) looks at the important links between education, employment and national development, covering the political, geographic, economic and social status of the UAE and the region. In addition, it underlines the role played by women in the development of society, the work environment and education. The book also discusses emigration and recent trends such as sustainability, artificial intelligence and financial technology.
It is worth mentioning the Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim has filled many notable positions in both the cultural and educational sectors. He was Minister Plenipotentiary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1972-1990) before being appointed as President of Zayed University (2006-2013). Dr. Al Jassim also worked in the Emiri Court of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohammad Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah and Member of the Supreme Council for 11 years (1975 – 1986). He holds a Ph.D. from Exeter University (1990) and is Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation.
