Emirati writer Abdul Aziz Khalil Al Mutawa, a pioneer in the realm of short story in the UAE, passed away in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, December 24, 2023.

Born in1954 in Dubai where he completed his education, Al Mutawa wrote “The Invented Mouse,” marking the UAE’s first illustrated story tailored for children.

This illustrated tale, written and illustrated by Al Mutawa at the age of 15, drew inspiration from captivating narratives in the animal kingdom. Through this creation, he introduced young readers to a world of challenge and generosity, akin to beloved stories that spark imagination and curiosity.

Renowned for his scholarly pursuits and intellectual curiosity, Abdul Aziz Khalil Al Mutawa shared his extensive research through various publications in UAE magazines and newspapers.

Abdul Aziz Khalil Al Mutawa authored a collection of notable intellectual works, encompassing titles such as: “Muslims in the Midst of Terrorism,” “Globalization and the Antichrist,” “The Post-Oil Gulf,” “The Black Spring,” “The Neighing of the Last Trench,” and “The Story of Prophet Mohammad (Peace be Upon Him).

Al Mutawa exhibited diverse interests spanning financial affairs, professional work, human resources, planning, development, and future strategies. He played a pivotal role in fostering the advancement of numerous government sectors, regulatory committees, and various other domains through his valuable contributions.
