Al Owais Cultural Foundation to Host Literary Session With Iraqi Novelist Inaam Kachachi at Sharjah Book Fair on November 12

The Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation will host a literary session titled “Life in Writing” at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, featuring Iraqi novelist Inaam Kachachi. The session, part of the Sharjah Book Fair, will be moderated by Emirati novelist Salha Obeid and will take place at the Thought Hall at Expo Centre Sharjah.

The event is part of a broader celebratory programme organised by the foundation to mark the 19th edition of the Al Owais Cultural Award. This year’s winners include Iraqi poet Hamid Said in poetry, Inaam Kachachi for story, novel, and playwriting, Moroccan critic Dr. Hamid Lahmdani for literary and critical studies, and Tunisian historian Dr. Abdeljalil Tammimi for humanities and future studies.

Inaam Kachachi is a prominent Iraqi writer and novelist who works as a correspondent in Paris and contributes columns to Asharq Al Awsat in London as well as a weekly article to Kul Al Usra magazine in Sharjah. Her notable works include “Lorna: Her Years with Jawad Salim”, “The Iraqi Tragedy Through Women’s Pens”, “Words of Iraqi Women”, “Streams of Hearts” (Sawaqi Al Quloob), “The American Granddaughter”, “Tachari”, “The Outcast” (Annabitha), and “Swiss Summer”.
