In the presence of a group of admirers of the late poet Saif bin Rahma Al Shamsi, the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation launched a new book dedicated to the late poet’s biography and poetry. The event took place on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the Foundation’s pavilion as part of its participation in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF 2025).

 The poet’s daughter, Dr. Sheikha Al Shamsi—author of the book—spoke about the nature of the material she worked with to present the book titled “Saif bin Rahma Al Shamsi: His Biography and Poems” in its distinctive form. She also expressed her gratitude to the Al Owais Foundation for publishing the book as part of its acclaimed publication “Pioneers from the UAE” series.

Sheikha Al Shamsi also extended her thanks to Ibrahim Al Hashmi and Mohammed Abdullah Noor El-Din, who reviewed the book and contributed to verifying its content. She noted that Al Bayan Arabic language newspaper had published many of the poet’s works, which enriched the book’s material—especially his poetic debates and exchanges with fellow poets, most notably the late Hamad Khalifa Abu Shehab.

At the conclusion of her remarks about the book, Dr. Sheikha Al Shamsi signed dozens of copies for attendees and posed for commemorative photos, marking a memorable occasion for admirers of the late poet Saif bin Rahma Al Shamsi.

Dr. Al Shamsi has held several prominent positions, including Director General of the Arab Women Organization at the League of Arab States in Cairo (2012–2014), Assistant Undersecretary for Curricula and Educational Programs at the UAE Ministry of Education (1997–2005), and faculty member at the United Arab Emirates University (1990–1997). She earned her Ph.D. in Economics from Cairo University in 1990.
