The Emirates Library and Information Association (ELIA) has elected its new board of directors for the 2026–2029 term during its annual general assembly meeting held at the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA). The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Community Empowerment and the Sharjah Social Services Department.
The assembly elected Fahad Ali Al Maamari, Fadel Hussein Bousaim, Sultan Saif Al Mazrouei, Ahmed Mohammed Al Mushtaghil, Hamad Salim Al Hemeiri, Sheikha Abdullah Al Mutairi and Iman Salem Al Hammoudi to the new board.
The general assembly reviewed the administrative report, which highlighted the association’s key activities in 2025, including scientific programmes, local and international participation, and meetings aimed at strengthening cooperation and advancing the library and information sector.
The meeting also discussed the financial report, outlining the association’s financial position and future plans, and approved amendments to its statutes in line with new regulations.
The new board comprises Fahd Ali Al Maamari as chairman, Fadel Hussein Bousaim as vice-chairman, Sultan Saif Al Mazrouei as treasurer, and Ahmed Mohammed Al Mushtaghil as secretary, with Hamad Salim Al Hemeiri, Sheikha Abdullah Al Mutairi and Iman Salem Al Hammoudi as members.
