Culture Summit-Abu Dhabi 2024 To Commence On March 3

The Department of Culture and Tourism-Abu Dhabi has announced that the upcoming sixth edition of Culture Summit-Abu Dhabi is scheduled to be held at Manarat Al Saadiyat from March 3 to 5.

Themed ‘’A Matter of Time”, the three-day summit will bring together global thought leaders from the fields of culture, arts, design, heritage, media, music, museums, public policy and technology from over 90 countries to explore the pivotal role of culture and its potential to catalyze transformation within societies and communities on a global scale.

In its 2024 edition, the summit will explore the changing relation to time, how this change is impacting the way culture is produced, received and consumed.  It will feature a series of sessions dedicated to examining the role culture could play to help us navigate the moment of inflection in the way we relate to the notion of time, moving from a ‘mechanical time’ characteristic of our contemporary era to a ‘new cultural time’, realigned with the natural rhythm of human consciousness and nature.

On each day of the summit, the program will delve into a distinct sub-theme, analyzing the evolving dynamics of our relationship with time. It critically assesses the challenges this evolution poses to the culture and creativity sectors, offering tailored and pragmatic solutions.

The summit will comprise keynote speeches, panel discussions, lectures, artist talks, workshops, creative discussions, policy sessions, cultural performances, and a visual arts exhibition.

The summit is being organised in collaboration with a number of global partners, most notably the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Economist Impact, the London Design Museum, Google, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Foundation, and the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

It will also be held in partnership with key-UAE-based partners such as the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, in addition to the Arab World Institute, and others.
