Fujairah Fine Arts Academy’s Orchestra To Perform at Al Owais Awards Ceremony

The Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation will organise a musical concert performed by the Fujairah Fine Arts Academy’s Orchestra on Thursday evening, November 13, at Al Baraha Ballroom- InterContinental Hotel- Dubai Festival City, as part of its awards ceremony to honour the winners of 19th edition of the Al Owais Cultural Award.

During the ceremony a distinguished group of Arab creatives will be honoured in recognition of their contributions to the Arab cultural landscape. The winners include Iraqi poet Hamid Said who claimed the Poetry Award, while Iraqi novelist Inaam Kachachi has won the Short Story, Novel and Drama Award. The Literary Studies and Criticism Award will go to Moroccan critic Hamid Lahmadi, while Tunisian intellectual Abdeljalil Al Tamimi will be honoured with the Humanities and Future Studies Award. 

Fujairah Fine Arts Academy’s Orchestra is considered one of the emirate’s leading cultural initiatives. It was established in 2025 under the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, and is supervised by the Academy

The orchestra brings together a distinguished group of young musicians, along with students and instructors from the academy. Its mission is to discover, develop and train musical talents in line with the highest academic standards. The ensemble features a range of instruments such as violin, cello and guitar, as well as traditional Eastern instruments including the oud and qanun, in addition to vocal performance. Training is overseen by a group of experienced experts and specialists.

The orchestra has delivered a series of notable performances at local and international events within the UAE, and has also taken part in international festivals, including performances in Uzbekistan. It regularly organises concerts in Fujairah. Blending Western classical music with authentic Arab musical heritage in a contemporary style, the orchestra reflects the emirate’s cultural identity and contributes to enhancing its position as a dynamic cultural and creative hub in the UAE’s artistic landscape.
