Veteran Egyptian Actress Madiha Yousri has passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. She was 96. Yousri\u2019s acting career spanned over seven decades.<\/p>\n

Yousri, who was considered one of the most beautiful actresses in the 1940s, passed away at Al Maadi Military Hospital after a battle with illness.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Yousri and Faten Hamama were the only two actresses who starred alongside four of Egypt\u2019s singing icons, namely: Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Fareed Al Atrash, Mohamed Fawzy and Abdel Halim Hafez.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The late actress spent her final years in a wheelchair before her health failed her and she became bedridden.<\/p>\n
Born as Hanooma Habib Khalil in 1921, Yousri made her acting debut in 1942 in \u201cMamnou\u2019 Al Hob\u201d (Love is Prohibited), a film which starred the late Mohamed Abdel Wahab, before landing a role in \u201cAhlam Al Shabab\u201d (Dreams of the Youth) alongside Fareed Al Atrash and Taheyya Kariokka.<\/p>\n

Throughout her career, she took part in more than 90 films, some of which are considered classics in Egyptian cinema, including \u201cAmeer Al Intiqam\u201d (Prince of Revenge), \u201cHayah Aw Mawt\u201d ( Life or Death), \u201cInni Rahila\u201d ( I Am Departing), \u201cLahn Al Khulood\u201d (Eternal Tune), \u201cBanat Hawa\u2019\u201d (Daughters of Eve), \u201cAl Khataya\u201d (The Sins), \u201cLa Tas\u2019alni man Ana\u201d (Don\u2019t Ask Me Who Am I) and \u201cAyoub\u201d.<\/p>\n

Her final role in the cinema was in \u201cAl Irhabi\u201d (The Terrorist), in which she starred alongside comedian Adel Imam.<\/p>\n

She also participated in a number of TV series, such as \u201cLu\u2019lu\u2019 wa Asdaf\u201d (Pearls and Shells), \u201cAl Raja\u2019 Iltizam Al Hudoo\u2019\u201d (Please Be Quiet), \u201cWada\u2019an Ya Rabi\u2019 Al Omr\u201d (Farewell to Life\u2019s Spring), \u201cSabah Al Ward\u201d (Good Morning), \u201cHawanem Garden City\u201d (The Ladies of Garden City) and \u201cYahya Al Adl\u201d (Long live Justice).<\/p>\n

She also produced several films including \u201cAl Avocato Madiha\u201d (Madiha the Lawyer) in 1950, which was written and directed by Youssef Wahbi, who also starred in the same movie, \u201cWafa\u2019 Lil Abad\u201d (Forever Loyal) in 1953, and \u201cQalb Yahtariq\u201d (A Heart on Fire) in 1959.<\/p>\n

In the late 1990s, Yousri was selected as a Member of Egypt\u2019s Shura Council, which currently does not exist.<\/p>\n

The late Yousri married four times. Her first marriage was to composer and actor Mohamed Amin, and her second marriage was to director Ahmed Salem. Her third husband was singer Mohamed Fawzy and finally her fourth husband was Sheikh Ibrahim Salama Radhi.<\/p>\n
