The Sheikh Zayed Book Award (SZBA) has revealed the shortlisted titles in the \u2018Young Author\u2019 and \u2018Children\u2019s Literature\u2019 categories for the 13th edition of the Award. The \u2018Young Author\u2019 shortlist included three titles that were selected from among 12 longlisted books, while the \u2018Children\u2019s Literature\u2019 shortlist also included three works that were selected from among 10 longlisted titles.<\/span><\/p>\n

The titles shortlisted for the Young Author category are: \u2018Hamam Al Dar\u2019 (Doves of the House) by Kuwaiti writer Saud Alsanousi, published by Arab Scientific Publishers \u2013 Difaf Publishing (2017), \u2018Al Ma\u2019rifa Wal Sulta\u2019 (Knowledge and Power: Approaching the Worlds of Michel Foucault) by Moroccan scholar Omar Al Tawer, published by Editions Approaches (2018) and \u2018Rouh Al Qiyam Wa Houriyat Al Mafaheem\u2019 (The Essence of Values and the Freedom of Social Concepts) by Algerian scholar Dr. Abderrezak Belagrouz\u200f,\u00a0 published by The Arabian Establishment for Thought and Innovation (2017).<\/span><\/p>\n

On the other hand, the shortlist for the Children\u2019s Literature category includes: \u2018Ana Lastu Anta\u2019 (I Am Not You) by Syrian author Jekar Khourchid, published by AlHadaek Group in 2018, \u2018Ahlam An Akoun Khalat Asmant\u2019 (I Dream of Being a Concrete Mixer) by Kuwaiti author Hussain Almutawaa, published by AlHadaek Group in 2018 and \u2018Ayna Minqari?\u2019 (Where is My Beak?) by Jordanian author and illustrator Yara Bamieh, published by Palestine Writing Workshop in 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n
